SONIM TECHNOLOGIES TO EXHIBIT AT IFSEC INTERNATIONAL 2012

London, UK– 14 May 2012 – Sonim Technologies, maker of the world’s toughest phones, is exhibiting at IFSEC International 2012, the UK’s largest security event at the NEC Birmingham from 14-17 May 2012. Sonim is taking a prime position in the new Lone Worker Protection Product Area in Hall 3 for companies specialising in products aimed at lone workers. On stand E32 opposite the lone worker theatre, Sonim will showcase the world’s most rugged and functionally-advanced lone worker mobile phone– the Sonim XP3340 Sentinel which boasts unquestionable reliability, automated safety/alert functions and the ability to sense and react to danger. Combining world-beating reliability with simple colour coded buttons – for automated emergency response calls, GPS tracking requests and enhanced monitoring – it has a highly configurable state-of-the-art man-down sensor based on a three-axis accelerometer. Ultra rugged well beyond its MIL-810G military specification, and based on Sonim’s phone that holds the Guinness World Record for the toughest phone, it is also fully water submersible and dust proof (IP-68 rated) and specified to 2 metre drops onto concrete. Equipped with high performance GPS, an LED torch, a 2MP camera and the longest GPS tracking battery life available in any mobile phone, it’s a perfect fit for the security sector, and already used by the world’s leading man guarding companies.

Also displayed on the stand will be the Sonim XP1301 CORE NFC GSM mobile phone – the world’s first ultra-rugged NFC mobile phone. It combines mobile voice and data communications with Near Field Communications (NFC) contactless tag read/write capability for guard-tour verification applications which streamline security operations, make manned-guards more efficient and unlock new revenue/service opportunities through accurate real-time reporting of presence, activity, status and data at specific NFC tagged check points. For the first time in Europe, Sonim will be demonstrating a technology preview of its new generation Push to Talk (PTT) solution. InstaPoC™ from Sonim partner, Kodiak Networks is the next-generation of the Push to Talk over Cellular (PoC v2) industry standard, which provides subsecond Push-to-Talk call set up time over HSPA 3.5G mobile networks – faster than any other PoC solution currently available in Europe. This solution was recently commercially deployed by Bell Canada to security, facilities management and other vertical markets in Canada, and Sonim plans to bring this to Europe in early 2013.

Showcase Partners

Sonim will be presenting the Sonim Solutions story, and will be hosting on its stand two of its leading application partners: Reslink (www.reslink.fi/sonim) focusing on NFC/workforce management applications and TrackaPhone (www.trackaphone.eu) - the provider of lone worker protection and workforce management solutions to Vodafone. In addition Sonim has also recently announced a partnership with mobile phone distribution and supply chain solutions company Brightstar for UK distribution of Sonim products.

Expert Speaker

Vince Galvin, Sonim’s new VP Sales Northern Europe, will take to the stand of the Lone Worker Education seminar Theatre on the first day of IFSEC (1.30-2.30pm, Lone Worker Education Theatre, Hall 3A) to discuss why rugged communications are vital to lone worker safety and explore how they can improve productivity, security and efficiency. Vince will discuss three case studies to outline issues and risks facing lone workers and how rugged communications can improve their safety, boost performance and reduce costs. Vince will also describe how lone worker solutions are only one part of an integrated workforce management imperative that must also address productivity and efficiency as well as safety.

At IFSEC, Sonim will also be launching a survey, in partnership with FM World, the fortnightly magazine for the British Institute of Facilities Management, to discover how the facilities management sector views rugged devices. For a chance to win a case of champagne (with runners-up prizes of a half-case and a bottle) complete the survey at www.fm-world.co.uk.

Excellence

The Sonim XP1301 CORE NFC GSM Mobile Phone has been shortlisted in the Communication Product of the Year category at the IFSEC International Security Industry Awards 2012, the premier event for the security industry to celebrate security innovations and product excellence influencing and shaping the security industry. Taking place on the evening of Monday 14 May 2012, Sonim will join more than 600 of the industry players at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hoping to take away an accolade.
