FAQ: XP3plus

No, there is no E911 application on the XP3plus. You will need to configure & use Sonim SOS, or a similar third party application. Sonim SOS is one of our SonimWare tools and more information can be found at www.sonimtech.com/products/sonimware/#SOS

No, the XP3plus does not support USB On the Go. No audio & power at the same time.

The headset (or really any audio accessory with a cable) acts as a radio antenna. Without it, the FM radio would not have any reception. Once the wired accessory is connected to the 3.5mm jack on the XP3plus, the FM Radio app will start up and you can scan for stations. Listening to the radio is then possible through the headset and alternatively also through the speaker.

This can happen on XP3plus & XP5plus. You may see a toast message “License Failed” for a few seconds on the display when you want to type a text message or add a contact or enter some other text. In this case you cannot change the input method and only numbers are allowed. To resolve this issue, open SETTINGS–>APPS & NOTIFICATIONS–>SHOW SYSTEM APPS. Find “12key Keyboard”, Force Stop the app, then open Storage & cache and Clear Storage. NOTE: This procedure will delete all words saved in the Personal Dictionary.

For Sonim XP3 & XP5s users, you may disable the Voice Assistant feature only by QR code/SSW. Cloud Admins can create these QR codes, however for XP3plus & XP5plus, this can be done via QR code/SSW, and only Sonim can create these and the device must be SSW v10.1.5.720 or higher. In addition, for XP3plus & XP5plus, devices on Scout v10.2.34.37 or higher, Enterprise Admins may create an Over-the-AIr (OTA) update.

While the XP3plus does support dual SIMs, the SIM operation is controlled by the software on the device. In North America, only ONE SIM can be active at a time. The XP3plus will read the SIM card in Tray 1 first, and if there is a 2nd SIM in Slot 2, it will not be read.

The XP3plus comes with a new option under SETTINGS–>BATTERY–>REDUCE BATTERY AGING, which limits the maximum battery charge level to 80%. If you engage “Reduce Battery Aging” mode, this will stay active even after a Factory Data Reset, even though the option in SETTINGS–>BATTERY shows that the Reduce Battery Aging is disabled. In this case, ENABLE the option in the SETTINGS–>BATTERY menu, then reboot the device and disable the application.
