The District
Comprised of seven individual schools, the Haverford School District’s current student enrollment is approximately 5,475, with the town occupants numbering over 49,000. Residents have five choices for grades kindergarten through fifth, including: Lynnewood, Chatham Park, Chestnutwold, Manoa, Coopertown, and elementary schools. As the students get older they move on to Haverford Middle school, grades 6-8, and Haverford High School, grades 9-12.

The residents of Haverford Township benefit from a wide range of services from the prominent school district, including Adult Evening School and Delaware County Community College courses. Haverford, who is still an active member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, strives to ensure that his school district maintains partnerships with the local universities and colleges, service organizations, businesses, retailers, community groups and senior citizen organizations.

The Challenge
In order to keep successful school districts running smoothly, multiple departments across seven campuses need to work together seamlessly and communicate effectively. Haverford school district’s administration, maintenance and transportation teams are trained to react quickly to solve any issue that could potentially disrupt a typical school day. With the help from multiple communication devices, including cell phones, landlines, 2-way radios, and security cameras, the district’s communications specialist Tom Straub keeps his team connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The maintenance and ground crews are constantly in the field fixing issues and maintaining the properties.
