Bob Plaschke, Chief Executive Officer
Bob Plaschke currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sonim Technologies, pioneer of the world’s toughest GSM phone, the Xtreme Performance 1.
One of the youngest CEOs in the mobile industry, Plaschke has led Sonim in this role for four years. Prior to this appointment, he served as entrepreneur-in-residence at Sutter Hill Ventures, where he focused on wireless investments. Before joining Sutter Hill, Plaschke was Senior Vice President of worldwide client services at Infospace. He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Business Development at Prio, a wireless and wireline promotion infrastructure company that was later acquired by Infospace. There he oversaw the implementation of wireless data solutions across the company’s carriers.
In terms of accolades, Plaschke was inducted into the Young Presidents' Organization’s San Francisco Bay Chapter in September 2008. Plaschke is also a board member of the CTIA’s Wireless Internet Caucus. The group includes key industry CEOs that advise the CTIA on how to maintain and develop a vibrant wireless Internet ecosystem.
Plaschke received his undergraduate degree in computer engineering from Northwestern University and earned his MBA at the University of Chicago.
Richard Long, Chief Financial Officer
Richard Long has over 20 years of leadership experience in international corporate finance. Prior to Sonim, was VP Finance at Sybase's $200M Mobile Services division, having joined Sybase through its acquisition of Mobile365, a leader in the mobile messaging and transactions market. During his 5 years in this role, Richard led the business through a significant growth phase and into sustained profitability.
Before Sybase, Richard held CFO and Corporate Controller roles with other technology companies - including his role as VP Corporate Controller at Informix Corporation, a $900M enterprise software company, prior to its acquisition by IBM in 2001.
Richard's career started with 7 years at Ernst & Young in London and San Francisco, where he was an Audit Manager. He holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a BSc. in Mathematics from University of Bristol, UK, and is a qualified ACA with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Javor Kolev, Vice President, Mobile Phones
Javor is a 20 year wireless telecommunications veteran, with 16 years at Ericsson and Sony Ericsson Mobile phones. Javor started his professional career at Ericsson Mobile Phones in Sweden 1988 where he built the first Ericsson mobile phones. He then went on to various software development managerial positions in Sweden and managed Software Systems for the SE handset portfolio. Javor holds a MS in Computer Science from Lund Technical University, Sweden, and is multilingual.
Meghasyam Dora, Vice President, GM India Development Center
Dora has about 20 years of Software Development experience at Silicon valley and Bangalore India. Prior to joining Sonim he spent many years in Digital Equipment Corporation, Palo Alto and VeriFone India. At Digital he worked on building clustering framework for Digital Alpha platform and parallel databases. During his VeriFone days he worked on performance tuning of VeriFone payment server and HP OpenCall Connectivity. Dora joined Sonim at its inception and has been working on building wireless application products. Dora is currently heads the Sonim India development center. He has a Masters degree in Electrical and Communications Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
Jasen Kolev, Vice President Product Acceptance and Certifications
Jasen acquired his MS in Computer Science from Lund Technical University, Sweden in 1989, and has been in IT and Telecommunications since that.
Jasen is a recognized industry expert in type certification of 2.5G and 3G wireless solutions and in testing and validation of wireless handsets. Prior to joining Sonim, Jasen worked 14 years for Ericsson and Sony Ericsson Mobile Phones, where he acquired broad competence in standards, requirements, development and testing of telecom technologies and mobile phones, and held engineering and management positions in system tests and type approval.
