Jean-David Chamboredon, 3i

Jean-David joined 3i in 2004 as head of the Venture Capital team in Paris and became part of the Growth Capital team in 2008. He has more than twenty years of experience in the IT industry. Jean-David has a strong network in the systems integrator world, as well as numerous connections in the internet, telecom and software community, both in Europe and in Silicon Valley. Key deals with which he has been involved include Okyz (acquired by Adobe), SeLoger.com (listed on EuroNext) and ScreenTonic (acquired by Microsoft).

Jean-David started his career at CapGemini where, in his last position, he was in charge of Internet related business and founded the Cap Gemini Telemedia Lab in Silicon Valley. His first experience in private equity was as CTO of Europatweb in 2000 and then as a partner at Viventures.

Jean-David attended the Ecole Polytechnique. He has served on the Board of twenty independent software vendors and internet companies in France, Sweden and the US and currently sits on the Boards of Fastbooking, Highdeal, PriceMinister and Twenga. He is also a member of the Financing Committee of CroissancePlus

Lee Benton

Lee F. Benton is Senior Counsel in the Palo Alto office of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP. Mr. Benton was a partner at Cooley from 1975 until 2006. He served as Managing Partner of Cooley from 1996 to 2001 and as chair of Cooley’s Business Department from 1994 to 1996. He commenced his career at Cooley in 1970 in its San Francisco office, and founded Cooley's Palo Alto office in 1980. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, The Best Lawyers in Silicon Valley, Northern California Super Lawyers, Marquis Who's Who in America and Madison Who's Who in the World. While remaining a Partner at Cooley, Mr. Benton served as General Counsel and a member of the senior management teams of two publicly traded technology companies. He is also a co-editor and co-author of Venture Capital and Public Offering Negotiation (Aspen Law and Business, Inc., 2002). This book is the leading authority on the legal aspects of venture capital funds and of private financing and initial public offerings for technology companies.

John Giere

Mr. Giere provides advisory services that encompass strategic planning through success-based operational engagements. His expertise is addressing commercial challenges including: sales, marketing, business development, e-commerce, venture financing, government relations and alliance building. His clients range from start-up to publically held technology companies across energy and communications. He presently sits on the Board of Directors of VNL Limited located in New Delhi, India which designs, develops and manufactures a end to end solar powered GSM cellular network, Sonim Technologies located in San Mateo, California which develops and manufactures “Military Spec” mobile handsets, the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) Association located in Washington, DC which represents the collective commercial, regulatory and legislative interests of telecom software providers and equipment manufacturers and the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology.

Mr. Giere was previously Chief Marketing Officer of Alcatel-Lucent, a Fortune 500 company and one of the leaders in providing clients innovative communications solutions. He created the CMO function, serving in this role for five plus years, where he was responsible for the marketing, business development, strategic alliances, public relations and messaging activities of the company.

Prior to joining Lucent as their Chief Marketing Officer in Dec. 2003, Mr. Giere was eight years at LM Ericsson. He oversaw the areas of strategic marketing, business development, sales support and internal ventures. His tenure included a three and a half year assignment at the company headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden where he served as Global Marketing and Branding Officer and later as the 3G Business Development and New Sales Push leader for Ericsson Wireless Systems.

Investment Director: Mathias Schilling - General Partner, BV Capital

Mathias Schilling is a co-founder and Partner at BV Capital. He leads the US office and focuses on consumer media and wireless services. He represents BV Capital on the board of Angie’s List, Appfolio, publicly traded Hi-Media (HIMD.PA), Peerflix, Sonim Technologies, Vuze.com and Yume Networks and led investments in epinions (Shopping.com) and Sonos. Prior to BV Capital, he was a Partner at Bertelsmann Ventures, where he was a board member of several portfolio companies and contributed to the successful exits of eGroups, Nuvomedia and Expertcity. Previously, Mathias was with Bertelsmann AG in their Strategic New Ventures group, working on the negotiation and execution of several joint-venture and M&A transactions. Previous work experience also include Bertelsmann's Publishing Group in New York as well as the management consultancy firm Roland Berger & Partner in Paris. He received his Master's degree in Finance from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Bob Plaschke - Chief Executive Officer

Bob Plaschke currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sonim Technologies, pioneer of the world’s toughest GSM phone, the Xtreme Performance 1.

One of the youngest CEOs in the mobile industry, Plaschke has led Sonim in this role for four years. Prior to this appointment, he served as entrepreneur-in-residence at Sutter Hill Ventures, where he focused on wireless investments. Before joining Sutter Hill, Plaschke was Senior Vice President of worldwide client services at Infospace. He also served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Business Development at Prio, a wireless and wireline promotion infrastructure company that was later acquired by Infospace. There he oversaw the implementation of wireless data solutions across the company’s carriers.

In terms of accolades, Plaschke was inducted into the Young Presidents' Organization’s San Francisco Bay Chapter in September 2008. Plaschke is also a board member of the CTIA’s Wireless Internet Caucus. The group includes key industry CEOs that advise the CTIA on how to maintain and develop a vibrant wireless Internet ecosystem.

Plaschke received his undergraduate degree in computer engineering from Northwestern University and earned his MBA at the University of Chicago.
